WOW! That's about all I can say there. Team Astana, is amazing, and it's not just because they have Lance. With Contador, Popovych, Leipheimer and the others, it's got amazing depth. The level of preparation and planning and team work that goes into this is really incredible! For those interested, there's more photos like this at www.cyclingfans.com. (This isn't from the TDF, but is from the Gyro d'Italia this year. C'mon, team Astana finished five minutes ago - you think I'd actually have pics from that?) But you should watch the team time trials though. It's pretty exciting, and I won't spoil the amazing finish for those that do choose to watch!
I think one day we need to actually attend this thing. I missed my chance to go with some family back in the day, and plus it's biking, and plus, hello, France?? What say you?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... what about riding it? Ok, I guess Sunday racing puts getting there out of the question. It is pretty fun though. I've actually seen what used to be billed as the women' tour de france. It's really called the Grande Boucle and is nowhere near the glory of the TDF. It's only a few days long with four or five stages, as opposed to 21. Anyway, still pretty exciting, but there's a flourish of activity for a couple hours at the start and then you'd never know that it was even there. Kind of spooky. Fun all the same. I'm thinking it's getting time to ride another century though. Riding is more fun than watching!
ReplyDeleteI AM NOW A DOT ON YOUR VISITOR MAP! Great blogging David, I didn't realize how active you were. I need to put this on my reader.
